June 30, 2009 2009 NAHB Remodeler of the Month ENDWELL: LOCAL REMODELER, MIKE MCGOWAN NAMED AUGUST NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF HOME BUILDERS REMODELER OF THE MONTH
June 29, 2009, Washington, DC—Mike McGowan of The McGowan Corporation in Binghamton, NY, was named the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Remodelers August Remodeler of the Month. McGowan, selected through a stringent judging process of NAHB Remodelers leadership and staff, exemplifies the best in the remodeling industry.
Mike was the 2008 recipient of the Southern Tier Home Builders & Remodelers Association’s (STHBRA) Builder/Remodeler o the Year Award, the 2006 recipient of the prestigious NYSBA 3-Legged Stool Award and in 2007, he was selected as the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Advocate of the Year. Additionally, he has served as President of STHBRA-2 times, President of NYSBA, served as the New York State Representative to NAHB and chaired many committees for the local, state and national associations. He currently is on the STHBRA Board of Directors and represents STHBRA as a Director at NYSBA and NAHB. Mike’s background is of a 2nd generation family owned business, so he has lived his adult life as an advocate of the housing industry. Mike has chaired our STHBRA Governmental Affairs Committee and participates in the Chamber’s GAC.
The purpose of the NAHB Remodeler of the Month award program is to celebrate local, active remodelers who stand out because of recent quality work, customer service, community involvement, and dedication to furthering the industry. The winner, once selected by the NAHB Remodelers, is profiled in Qualified Remodeler magazine.
